Congratulations to PhD Candidate Rachel Katz whose doctoral work has received coverage from major news outlets in recent weeks, following her research presentation at the Congress 2023 gathering of the Canadian Society for the History and Philosophy of Science (CSHPS) at York University in May. In these media interviews, Rachel discusses ethical concerns around using artificial intelligence (AI) in psychotherapy, focussing on issues around AI chatbots in moments of mental health crises. Rachel’s research is supported by a Doctoral Fellowship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada.
